The Panel on "Library Applications for the Disabled in Accessing Information"

İstanbul University Library and Documentation Department, Turkish Library Association Istanbul Branch and Cultural Sharing Platform, on March 29, 2017 at Istanbul University PhD Hall, one of our 53rd Library Week events, "Library Applications for Disabled Students" is held.

The panel started with opening speech of Dr.Pervin Bezirci, our Head of Department, followed by Mustafa Özyürek's, President of the Istanbul Branch of the Turkish Librarians Association, in which he stated that they are celebrating the 53rd Library Week this year adding that "In fact, our main theme is to make the libraries a third address and we can not exclude our disabled users." The following participants made speeches respectively;

The chairman of the session was Prof.Dr. Berat Bir from Information and Document Management of Marmara University. First session of the Panel was on Applications and Questions;

Assoc. Prof.Berrin Kucukcan (Ataşehir Adıgüzel Vocational School), "Problems Arising from the Library Building at the Access to Information"

Bahar Biçen Aras (MEF University, Culture Exchange Platform) "Disability Libraries and Practices in Turkey".

In the second session titled "Good Practice Examples" the following participants made speeches respectively;
