The Rector of Cluj Babes-Bolyai University of Romania and his entourage pay a visit to Rare Works Library.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ioan Aurel Pop of Cluj Babes Bolyai University of Romania and Babes Bolyai University’s Prof. Dr. Tahsin Gemile visited İstanbul University's Library of Rare Books on June 23, 2016.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak accompanied the entourage during their visit to our library with his vice presidents and a senior management team of the university.
Prof. Dr. Ioan Aurel Pop touring the Rare Works Library and Prof. Dr. Tahsin Gemile have examined the three pieces on music written in Turkish one of which is the historical by Prince Dimitri Kandemiroğlu. Professor Dr. Ioan Aurel Pop noted that he is attracted to manuscripts in general expressing an interest in manuscripts in Latin in particular.
Guests who visited the Rare Works Library also received information about the execution of the ongoing projects from our director Dr. Pervin BEZİRCİ.
Later on, the guests toured Beyazıt II.Turkish Bath Culture Museum whom a while after were briefed about the Turkish culture and museums.
On June 24, 2016; IU Faculty of Slavic Language and Literature Department Head Prof. Dr. Emine İnanır chaired a conference in IU doctoral Hall " During a 200-Year Period; Three Romanian Principalities in History: Transylvania, Moldavia and Wallachia" in which Cluj Babes Bolyai University's Rector Dr. Ioan Aurel Pop and Prof.Tahsin Gemil of the same university participated.
The conference began with a presentation of Cluj Babes Bolyai University's Rector Aurel Pop on "16th and 17th centuries and the Principality of Transylvania." IU History Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Mahir Aydın also made a presentation on "18th and 19th Century Principality of Wallachia"
Higher Education Chairman (YÖK) Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Sarac, IU Rector Prof.Dr. Mahmut Ak, IU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat Murat, Professor Dr. Recep Güloğlu, Prof. Dr. Halis Yunus Ersöz and Prof. Dr. Bayram Mert Savrun also attended the conference.
